Mark Prince, a 3X State Finalist and 2X State champion from Virginia, began his coaching career in Florida in 1991. For the past 30 years, he has helped produce over 17 State Champions and 30+ State Placers from the Pinellas County area. Many of his past athletes have gone on to serve our country in all branches of the military. His proudest include coaching his sons Connor & Jared to a combined 5 state titles and a career record of 502-12. The pinnacle moment came in 2015, when Mark coached his son Jared to victory at the Dapper Dan. That victory secured secured him the top spot in the spot in country, the last Florida wrestler to finish his high school career ranked #1
During the 2020 pandemic, Mark opened the D1 Wrestling Academy, a 3,000 square foot facility to provide a place for kids to workout 7 days a week. D1 provided a home for FHSAA competitions when high schools were not permitting events on campus.
Prince is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College and earned a MS at Rochester Institute of Technology. Mark has owned and operated Graphic Art Productions for 30 years which specializes in sports marketing materials. Over the years, GAP has produced sports marketing materials for franchises including, Philadelphia Phillies, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and 30 NCAA College Bowl games.
Mark is the proud husband to Kerrale and father of five. Kerrale, asst. coach 2022, and a wrestling tournament director for 7 years. Kerrale is currently an assistant principal at Dunedin high school. Oldest daughter Lindsay, a 2013 University of Florida graduate, is a treatment coordinator at Coastal Jaw Surgery. Connor Prince is a 2020 graduate and former wrestler at the US Naval Academy. Connor is a Marine in Flight School. Jared Prince is a 2020 graduate of the US Naval Academy. At Navy, Jared became only the 7th wrestler in academy history to qualify for the NCAA’s all 4 years. Jared is a lieutenant in the Navy and lives with his wife Emily in VA. Austin Prince, a 2019 graduate of Countryside HS served in the Air Force reserves. Austin is a student at University of West Florida. Hailey is a 2022 graduate of CHS and at the Aveda Institute and St. Petersburg College. Hailey has served as an assistant coach, tapper, table worker, and tournament director
